Will Tip-Clip fit my probes? Fluke, Megger, Kewtech, Di-Log and Martindale checked

It's the question we get asked more than any other: "Will it fit my probes?" Short answer: if you're running leads from Fluke, Megger, Kewtech, Di-Log or Martindale, we've tried Tip-Clip on them and it fits. The videos below show it on real probes.

The brands we've checked

Tip-Clip is designed for standard 4mm probe ends. We've fitted it to probes from:

  • Fluke
  • Megger, including the smaller, fiddlier tips
  • Kewtech
  • Di-Log
  • Martindale

Every manufacturer has its own lead sets and accessories, and they change their ranges over time. So we're not going to pretend we've tested every model ever made. If you've got something unusual, ask us first (details below).

Got a mix of brands? That's fine

Most sparkies don't run one matching set for long. You lose a probe, borrow a croc, buy a replacement set from a different brand, and before you know it your leads are a mix. Tip-Clip doesn't care whose name is on the probe. Mixed brands sit on the same clip, up to five tips:

How to check your own probes

  1. Look at the probe end. Tip-Clip is designed for standard 4mm probe ends. If your probes and crocs use 4mm ends, that's what it's made for.
  2. Count what you carry. One Tip-Clip holds up to five tips. If you carry more probes and crocs than that, run a second clip.
  3. Not sure? Ask. Email info@tipclip.co.uk with your tester and the lead set you're using, and we'll tell you straight.

Whatever brand you run, keep the probes right

Fitting a holder doesn't change what your probes need to be. HSE guidance note GS38 says probes should have finger barriers. The exposed metal tip should be no more than 4mm, and where practicable it strongly recommends 2mm or less, or spring-loaded retractable screened probes. Leads should be marked with their CAT rating.
